Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve Faces Grave Threat
It was through the efforts of local residents that the Poppy Reserve was established
Jane Pinheiro, the Lancaster Women’s Club, the “Pennies for Poppies” program contributed by California school children, and efforts by many other local residents made the dream of a park to protect poppies become a reality.
Please join us to preserve this legacy & open spaces
A proposed development, the Fairmont Butte Motorsport Racetrack, now threatens to undo all of the hard work that has gone into establishing and preserving the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve!
IT IS OFFICIAL. THE RACETRACK PROJECT IS DEAD.
CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED IN GETTING THE RACETRACK STOPPED.
IT IS A VICTORY FOR OPEN SPACES, WILDFLOWERS & WILDLIFE IN THE ANTELOPE VALLEY
This is not just about wildflowers. It is about the threat to existing open spaces from commercial development that will have an impact on the environment and animal habitat in the Antelope Valley.
WE NEED YOUR HELP. They have the money, but we are counting on your love of the Poppy Reserve and the local area to stop this atrocity
